Program
Members Kathy Meyer (cello) and John Tabler (piano), joined by violinist Christine Maynard and violist Diane Stephens, will present an exciting program of Piano Quartet music by Robert Schumann and Joseph Suk.
Christine Maynard is the concertmaster of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, violinist with Coastal Strings, and free-lance musician. She earned a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Furman University, a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy from East Carolina University, and a Master of Science degree from EDC in Speech Language Pathology.
Kathy Meyer is a native of Atlanta. Kathy has been a member of the Greenville, South Carolina and Des Moines, Iowa Symphonies, as well as the Atlanta Chamber Orchestra, the Tallis Chamber Orchestra, and Cape Fear Chamber Players. She is currently principal cellist of the Wilmington Symphony and enjoys performing with her three musical children, all of whom were recipients of TMMC Scholarships in Wilmington.
Diane Stephens, a violist with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Western Michigan University where she studied with Joseph Work. Diane played in the Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids Symphonies in Michigan and the South Bend Symphony in Indiana. Later Diane taught Strings in the Fairfield Public Schools in Connecticut and played in the Bridgeport, Stamford, and Norwalk Symphonies.
John Tabler is the Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, overseeing all the church’s music programs as well as the Music at First concert series. He is an active member of the Wilmington Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, maintains a private teaching studio, and performs regularly both as an organ and piano recitalist and accompanist. John studied at Shepard University in West Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Music from Shenandoah University and Conservatory in Virginia.
