Become a Member

Your membership in the Thursday Morning Music Club shows that you love music, that you care about supporting musical programs and performers in the Wilmington area, and that you are interested in enthusiastically promoting music in our area’s youth.

Our meetings are generally open to the public, but as a Member you will be welcomed to participate in the leadership, planning, and operations of the club, and may attend other special gatherings that we may have from time to time for Club members only. And, of course, you will be encouraged to bring guests to our monthly meetings to enjoy top-notch performances from talented musicians. We hope some of your guests will decide to become members, too!

Special Free Ticket Offer!

Thursday Morning Music Club is very pleased to announce a special temporary arrangement with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra:

For each new member who joins the Thursday Morning Music Club, WSO will award two free seats at a WSO performance in the Wilson Center. Tickets may be for any performance over the next 12 months. This offer may be combined with the free ticket offer for donations to the TMMC Scholarship/Sponsorship programs, for a maximum of 4 tickets. (However, this offer does not apply to inactive members who reactivate their membership by paying dues in the current year.)

TMMC is not currently supporting payment of dues via this website. To apply for membership, please fill out and submit the form below. You may then contact the TMMC Treasurer, Arlene Bjorkman, or wait to be contacted to arrange payment by check. Our Treasurer will then see that you receive your tickets within 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the catch?

There is no catch! This past year of COVID has stressed out everyone, including musical organizations and clubs. Attendance at group gatherings like club meetings and musical performances has dropped, and people have gotten used to not going to events. WSO wants nice big audiences in order to make their great musicians happy - like in the old days. TMMC wants to grow our membership so we can strengthen our Scholarship and Sponsorship programs for students. (For details about our current scholarship and sponsorship programs, including support for the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra program, click here.) So, TMMC and WSO do nice things for each other, and we all benefit. YOU like good music and a good deal. And everybody wins!

I used to be an active member of TMMC, but I haven’t paid dues recently. Can I get free WSO tickets if I become active and start paying dues again?

When you first became a member of TMMC you paid your dues and a small one-time application fee. When you stopped paying dues, you became an inactive member, but you are still a member. TMMC would love to have you back as an active member, but WSO’s special ticket offer applies only to first-time new members. You can, however, still get free tickets by donating to the scholarship/sponsorship programs: click here.

Do I have to be a member to get free tickets for donating to the scholarship/sponsorship programs?

No – anyone can make a donation to TMMC’s scholarship/sponsorship programs and receive up to 2 free tickets

Can I join TMMC and get 2 free WSO tickets, and also make a donation and get up to 2 more free tickets?

Yes. Hard to believe it, but it’s true!

When we join TMMC and/or make a donation, can we pay on this website?

Good question. When you join TMMC you must pay by check (or optionally by cash if you pay at a meeting.) Website payment is not available for paying dues and application fees, but may be used for making donations.
