Program
Honorary Member and composer Meira Warshauer will present her music in a program titled “For the Love of Earth – music by Meira Warshauer.”
Meira’s love and concern for the earth has been a focus of much of her creative output.
Awakened to the urgency of protecting the earth by the first Earth Day in 1970, Meira has remained a committed environmentalist ever since. As a composer, her connection to the earth is a primary inspiration.
Meira will share recorded examples from her Symphony Living Breathing Earth for large orchestra, Ocean Calling for two pianos, and her choral symphony AHAVAH (LOVE) whose text from Deuteronomy references the consequences of losing the very earth which sustains us if we go “astray.” She will also include some live piano demonstrations and just maybe, some audience participation…!
Thursday Morning Music Club has honored Meira Warshauer with an Honorary membership, and she is delighted to present her music for us. For more about Meira and her music, please visit https://meirawarshauer.com/
