Around Town

Sunday, April 19, 5:00 pm.
Music@First series. FREE One Hour Recital. (First Presbyterian Church sanctuary)
Molly Hines - violin, and Domonique Launey, pianist (professional Daughter & Mother ensemble)

Monday, April 20, 7:00 pm.
Who can resist a free concert? Especially when it’s music by North Carolina composers, performed by musicians who are well-known to many of our TMMC members! Barry Salwen, who performs frequently at UNCW’s Beckwith Hall and other venues, will appear as piano soloist. Last year, Wilmington’s own Barbara Gallagher performed her suite from “Sweet Fancy”; she returns this year, again as both composer and performer. Julia Walker Jewell, who performed her piece “I Did Not Speak Out” last year, returns this year as an accompanist, along with flutist Mary Gheen, who performed on two pieces last year.

CFCC’s Union Station building is at the corner of Red Cross and Front Streets. Come and enjoy!

Saturday, April 25, 7:30 pm
CFCC Wilson Center. CARMINA BURANA — (Almost Sold Out!)
Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, guest conductor Aaron Peisner, with the Cape Fear Chorale and the UNCW Chamber Singers.
AND: Sofia Lukasik, who earned TMMC’s 2026 Scholarship Contest Honorable Mention, will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto!

[Thanks to Barbara Gallagher and Beverly Andrews for providing info for these postings.]
