TMMC Announces the 2026 Classical Musical Scholarship: Rules and Application

Thursday Morning Music Club's Annual Classical Music Scholarship Competition 
(a National Federation of Music Club since 1925)

Saturday Jan. 17, 2025
Beckwith Hall in UNCW Cultural Arts Building

11-12 grade students living in and attending school in
North Carolina’s New Hanover Co, Brunswick Co, or Pender Co.
are eligible.

Scholarship Grand Prize: $2,000
Monetary Honorable Mention awards are possible

All music must be memorized. 
12 minute time allotment for 1 or more classical pieces.
There are no registration or application fees for this competition, however:
you must provide your own accompanist if the piece requires it;
please contact us by Friday, December 5 if you need us to help you find one.

 Grand Prize winner must be available May 14, 2026 at noon
to perform winning selection and to accept Scholarship Prize.

This year the Thursday Morning Music Club is cooperating with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra
to coordinate our Scholarship Competition with the WSO Concerto Competition
so that students who wish to compete for both can perform a single piece one time for both panels of judges.
WSO is managing the registration process, and students may apply for either or both competitions.
