TMMC Announces Winners of 2026 Scholarship Competition (with photos)

Thursday Morning Music Club’s 2026 Scholarship Competition was held on Saturday, January 17, in conjunction with Wilmington Symphony Orchestra’s Concerto Competition, at WSO’s new administrative offices on Market Street. Of the six performers competing for TMMC’s award, four (*) were also being judged at the same time by a separate panel of judges, for the Concerto Competition.

Here are the TMMC contestants and results:

TMMC $2000 Grand Prize winner: Allan Thames, piano — Chopin Fantasie in F Minor op.49

TMMC Honorary Mention winner $750: *Sofia Lukasik, violin — Mendelssohn’s Concerto in E Minor op. 64 (mvt 1) (and winner of the WSO Concerto Competition)

TMMC Honorary mention winner $750: *Aubrey Lee, cello — Haydn Concerto #1 in C Major

*Diego Samaria, violin — Schindler’s List by John Williams

*Ava Crawford, cello — Golterman Concerto No. 4 in G

Josiah Rennie, voice — “In diesel heil’gen Hallen” from Mozart’s Magic Flute
